PHILLIP + ILYSSA // STONE ARCH BRIDGE ENGAGEMENT SESSION by ASHLEY GROTH

Words cant describe how excited I get when couples want to incorporate their dogs into their engagement sessions. ALLLLL the heart eyes for Beau! Ilyssa and Phillip live and work near the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, MN so naturally it served as the most perfect backdrop to their engagement story. We’d been trying to get together since late last year for this session but timing just didnt pan out - and I couldnt have been happier that their session landed on the first WARM day in Minneapolis since last October! Ilyssa and Phillip - thank you SO much for running all over St Anthony Main with me - and Beau for being such a good boy!

Justin & Alex // Minneapolis Courthouse Elopement by ASHLEY GROTH

I've said it once, I'll say it again: give me all the courthouse weddings. Justin + Alex had the sweetest, most understated wedding ceremony in downtown Minneapolis, on an atrium catwalk, surrounded by loving family. It was simple in the most logistical terms, but not as far as emotion. Sometimes stripping things down to their most essential components (J + A + LOVE) means having to only remember the feeling about your day, not the color of the napkins or if all the bridesmaids dresses coordinate.

It is always an honor to capture a wedding, but it seems especially special when I am just one of a handful who get to see that union first hand <3

Kirk & Sara // Foshay + Minneapolis Engagement by ASHLEY GROTH

If you aren't wearing a slinky black sequin BA-DOW dress for your engagement session, did it even really happen?! Props to Sara and Kirk for bringing lusty vibes to The Living Room at the Foshay in Minneapolis. All the heart eyes! Besides being smokin', these two are so down to earth and just comfortable to be around. Between kissy cuddly pics, I got to learn all about what makes them tick as individuals + a couple.

We started at the Living Room, since Manny's is where Kirk and Sara had dinner the day he popped the question - and even made it to the observation deck before beating the rain. I think this was on the first *actual* chilly day of the year, so big ups to these two for sticking it out for the shot. It was so fun doing a wardrobe change and heading over to a park for some lovey dovey shots, and even incorporated some of Sara's fun designed mugs (see more of her beautiful work here!) I love when couples are adventurous in wardrobe or location but can also dial it down to be comfy and relaxed - all in the same session. Cheers to you two lovebirds for trusting me to capture these memories - and I can't wait for your big day!

xoxo
